Our Commitment to PrivacyYour privacy is important to us. We will never sell or share your information with any third party without your explicit permission to do so. To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. If you wish to change or update your information, you may do so by contacting us. Should you have other questions or concerns about these privacy policies, please contact us.
This notice explains our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used. To make this notice easy to find, it is accessible from the bottom of every page on our site. Please note that this is the privacy policy of the Web site of the Green Zionist Alliance, and not its partner organizations and companies that are accessible through this site.
The Information We CollectThis notice applies to all information collected or submitted on the Green Zionist Alliance Web site. On some pages, you can submit e-mails, sign up for newsletters, register for events, submit applications, order products, make requests, and register to receive materials. On some pages, you can submit information about other people. For example, if you order a gift online and want it sent directly to the recipient, you will need to submit the recipient's address.
The Way We Use InformationWe use the information you provide about yourself solely for the purposes of the reason(s) you provided it. For example, if you sign up for the newsletter, your information will be used for purposes of sending you the newsletter. If you apply for a volunteering opportunity, your information will be used for purposes of volunteer placement and volunteering. We do not share this information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to complete the purpose for which the information was provided. We use the information you provide about someone else when placing an order only to ship the product and to confirm delivery. In the case of internship and volunteering opportunities, when information about references is provided, we only use that information for the purpose of those individuals serving as references. We do not share this information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to complete the purpose for which the information was given. We use return email addresses to answer the email we receive. Such addresses are not used for any other purpose and are not shared with outside parties. We use non-identifying and aggregate information to better design our Web site and to share with our partners. For example, we may tell a potential advertiser that X number of individuals visited a certain area on our Web site, or that Y number of men and Z number of women filled out our registration form, but we would not disclose anything that could be used to identify those individuals. We never use or share the personally identifiable information provided to us online in ways unrelated to the ones described above without also providing you an opportunity to opt-out or otherwise prohibit such unrelated uses.
Our Commitment to Data SecurityTo prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. Only individuals who need access to your information to perform a specific task or function are granted access to such information. In addition, all GZA employees, board members, interns and other volunteers must abide by this Privacy Policy. Anyone who violates this Privacy Policy is subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination. Notwithstanding the above commitments to protect your information from loss, misuse or alteration by third parties, you should be aware that there is always some risk involved in transmitting information over the Internet. There is also some risk that others could find a way to thwart our security systems. As a result, while we strive to protect your information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security and privacy of any information you transmit to us, and you do so at your own risk. That said, as stated above, we continue to work to protect all data and personal information transmitted to the GZA through our Web site.
Our Commitment to Children's PrivacyProtecting the privacy of the very young is especially important. For that reason, we never collect or maintain information at our Web site from those we actually know are under 13.
How You Can Access or Correct Your InformationYou can access all your personally identifiable information that we collect online and maintain by contacting us. You can correct factual errors in your personally identifiable information by sending us a request that credibly shows error. You should be aware that it is not technologically possible to remove each and every record of the information you have provided to us from our system. The need to back‐up our systems to protect information from inadvertent loss means that a copy of your personal information may exist in a non‐erasable form that will be difficult or impossible for us to locate. We promise that promptly after receiving your request, all personal information stored in our databases we actively use and other readily searchable media [except any personal information that, as a 501(c)3 nonprofit, we are required by law to maintain] will be updated, corrected, changed or deleted, as appropriate, as soon as reasonably practicable. To protect your privacy and security, we will also take reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting access or making corrections.
How to Contact UsShould you have other questions or concerns about these privacy policies, please contact us.
