The GZA 2010 delegate slate for the 36th World Zionist Congress

Due to the financial recession, the U.S. Area Election Committee of the Central Elections Committee of the World Zionist Organization canceled public elections in the United States for the 36th World Zionist Congress. Consequently, the Green Zionist Alliance only has a list of its delegates to the 2010 Congress instead of a slate of delegate candidates as it would have in normal election years.

Aviva Melissa Frank *

Aviva Melissa Frank is seeking her master's degree in conflict resolution and mediation. She's also an intern at Slim Peace, a coexistence project that brings together Israeli and Arab women to learn about healthy diet and exercise. Aviva is the co-founder of JewGa: Jewish Meditation and Yoga. Previously she has worked as a program director for the Israel on Campus Coalition of Greater Washington, as a coordinator for Campus Birthright Israel NEXT in Washington, as a Jewish Campus Service Fellow for Hillel, and as an AmeriCorps volunteer. Currently Aviva serves as the GZA's Israel volunteer coordinator.

David Krantz *

A delegate candidate on the GZA's 2002 World Zionist Congress slate, David Krantz serves on the board of directors of the American Zionist Movement, and is the GZA president and chairperson of the board. He completed his master's degree at the University of California, Berkeley. When not taking classes toward another degree, David works in the fields of journalism, statistics and education.

Dr. Richard H. Schwartz *

The president of the Jewish Vegetarians of North America, Dr. Richard H. Schwartz is a professor emeritus of mathematics at the City University of New York's College of Staten Island. Richard is also a co-founder of Society of Ethical and Religious Vegetarians, and the author of several books, including "Judaism and Global Survival" and "Judaism and Vegetarianism." His work inspired the documentary film, "A Sacred Duty: Applying Jewish Values to Heal the World."
